Woman on The Edge by Samantha M. Bailey - Blog Tour Review

A total stranger on the subway platform whispers, 'Take my baby'. She places her child in your arms. She says your name. Then she jumps...

Morgan has never seen the woman before, and she can't understand what would cause a person to give away her child and take her own life.

When the police question Morgan, she discovers none of the witnesses can corroborate her version of events. And when they learn recently widowed Morgan longs for a baby of her own, she becomes a suspect.

To prove her innocence, Morgan frantically tries to retrace the last days of the woman's life. She begins to understand that Nicole Markham believed she and her baby were in danger. Now Morgan might be in danger, too. Was Nicole a new mother struggling with paranoia? Or is something much darker going on?

Woman on the Edge is a pulse-pounding, propulsive debut thriller about the lengths to which a woman will go to protect her baby- even if that means sacrificing her own life.

My Review

What a cracking debut novel this is! I really enjoyed reading Woman on the Edge, Samantha M. Bailey has written a book that had me gripped and I can't wait to read more from her.

My favourite thing about the book is that is told from both Morgan and Nicole's point of views. So the reader gets to find what was going on in Nicole's life up to the point she ended up on the platform. Morgan's side of the story is mainly from after she is handed the baby and the fallout from that.

I felt so sorry for both of the women. Without giving too much away, Nicole was struggling after giving birth to her baby and circumstances she found herself in certainly didn't help her frame of mind. So she was a very desperate woman, trying to do what she thinks is best for her child.

Poor Morgan, she has absolutely no idea what is going on. All she knows is she has been handed a baby and been asked to look after it. She doesn't know Nicole, but she is drawn into her life in a bid to try and figure out what led her to be on that platform and to give her baby to Morgan. Morgan herself hasn't had the best time of things, can she convince people (especially the police) that she has no idea about what happened to the stranger on the subway platform.

Woman on the Edge is an excellent read and one that had me speeding through the pages. Samantha M. Bailey is really talented and I am really looking forward to reading her future work. It is a story of a woman's fight to clear her name and protect a child, and her efforts to solve the mystery of a total strangers decision to give her baby away and take her own life.
