The Dinner In The Sky by Anne John - Ligali - Review

After a shock confrontation with an unexpected encounter, Constance tries to piece her life back together and is on a mission to finally move on.

The thought of having her friends near is comforting as they take time out of their busy online lives and meet up at their favourite place, A Cupful of Dreams CafĂ©. Everyone seems happy enough until cracks begin to show and all is not as good as it seems. Constance tries desperately to keep positive as there’s so much to look forward to: shopping for posh frocks, dinner at The Shard and a movie premiere.

As things start to look rosy, a few odd tweets begin to pop up from nowhere. At first, they seem innocent, but as the weeks go by and premiere night draws near, not only do the tweets increase but they become more obnoxious.

By the time Constance and her chums arrive in the red carpet, she's determined to work out who the troll could be and to keep them from spoiling her evening. However as Constance soon learns, the troll wants to destroy far more than that!

Breathtaking views of London.

My Review

I have absolutely loved this series and I really enjoyed that The Dinner In The Sky was slightly longer than the others. I said in my review of The Big Event that if Anne John-Ligali wrote a full length novel I would love it and find it hard to put down because of her writing style. After reading The Dinner In The Sky I still whole heartedly believe this. Anne is a cracking writer and I can't wait to read more of her work. She has a way of drawing me into her stories, she has a real knack for scene setting and writing excellent multi layered characters.

Constance and her friendship group are really close and have a lot of fun when they are together. One thing I especially loved about The Dinner In The Sky was that Constance's son featured more in the story. It was so nice to read about the relationship between them. Constance doesn't have it easy, especially when it comes to men, but I love her attitude to life and that she just gets on with things.

The Dinner In The Sky was an absolute pleasure to read. After reading the full series, I am invested in Constance's story and really want her to be happy. I can't wait to read Anne's first novel!
