Christmas Spirit - Blog Tour (including giveaway)

It’s two days before Christmas - and Evie Harris finds herself both manless and jobless. After a chance encounter with handsome Greg (and egged on by her toy-boy-eating friend, Bea) she agrees to work at a homeless shelter on Christmas Day.
Striking up an unlikely friendship with homeless Yves, Evie begins an unwitting journey of spiritual awakening, all set against the sparkling winter backdrop of London landmarks.
A New Year’s Eve revelation is on its way . . . but will it leave Evie with a happy heart, or will she allow the pre-Christmas past to dictate her future?

My Review

This was a delightful Christmas short story! The whole feel of the book gave me all the feelings of the festive season. Nicola May has a great way of describing people and places.

After she finds herself single, Evie meets a man in a bar who invites her to volunteer to feed and help the homeless over Christmas. Here she meets a enigmatic homeless man who shows her a lot of things, which open her eyes to what she actually wants in life.

I loved the character of Evie's friend, Bea, she was certainly not afraid to say what was on her mind. Bea isn't the type to take any excuses off Evie about starting her life over. With the help of Bea, and the mystery stranger Evie feels she can have so much more from her life than she has at the moment. Including a new man!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, it had so many different messages running through it including helping others, misreading situations and starting your life over. If you are looking for a quick, uplifting Christmas read then this is a book for you.
