The Silent Sister by Shalini Boland - Blog Tour

'You don't deserve a sister . . .'

Lizzy Beresford is at home alone when she hears a strange noise. Running downstairs to check, she discovers a threatening letter addressed to her. But who sent it?

As Lizzy receives more unsettling messages, she begins to doubt those closest to her - her boyfriend, her neighbours, her friends. Because the mystery sender seems to know everything about her.

And they want to destroy her perfect life.

Desperate for answers, Lizzy contacts her sister, Emma. She used to be her best friend. But they haven't spoken in years. Not since the terrible argument which tore their relationship apart . . .

Surrounded by secrets and lies, can Lizzy trust her sister? Or is the shocking truth more dangerous than Lizzy ever imagined?

From the bestselling author of The Secret Mother and The Child Next Door, this absolutely unputdownable psychological thriller will keep you guessing with every heart-stopping twist. If you loved Gone Girl, The Girl on the Train and The Sister, this book is for you.

My Review

Lizzy has a stalker who is making her life miserable! She is desperately trying to figure out who it is, there are a lot of suspects. I will be honest and say I did kind of guess the culprit about half way through (I do read a lot of these type of books!). However this didn't stop me enjoying the book, there were twists that I definitely didn't guess.

One of the parts I enjoyed was the epilogue, if you read it you will see what I mean, I don't want to give any spoilers. If you have read any of my reviews before you will know I love a good entry from a mystery character, which is present in this story.

Onto the characters, they were so many suspects that at different points throughout I found myself suspecting each of them for different reasons. I wasn't overly keen on Lizzy's boyfriend or her work-mate. Her boyfriend, Joe, came across as slightly controlling. Her work-mate, Pippa, seemed a little spoilt and wrapped up in herself. The character of Lizzy I went back and forth but overall I liked her, she has a lot going on but deals with it all the best she can.

A thoroughly good read and I can't wait to read more from the author. If you like a psychological thriller you should give this a read.
