Mine/Susi Fox - Book Review

This is not your baby. You wake up alone after an emergency caesarean, dying to see your child. But when you are shown the infant, you just know... This baby is not yours. No one believes you. They say you're delusional, confused, dangerous. But you're a doctor... Do you trust yourself? Because you know only one thing - You must find your baby.

Imagine not believing a baby is yours, this is the position Sasha finds herself in. She is absolutely adamant the baby people are saying is hers isn't. She tries really hard to make people believe her, but her claims fall on deaf ears. Even her own husband doubts what she is saying but he is trying his best to be supportive.

The story is told from Sasha's side whilst she is in hospital. It also goes back into the past, which is told from her husband, Mark's, side. I always enjoy this in a book, finding out the history of relationships and how they have ended up where they are.

I enjoyed this novel, it was quite slow paced in parts but not in a bad way. The story covers some upsetting aspects of miscarriage and fertility problems. Sasha has dreamt of having a baby for so long, is her mind playing tricks on her? The main part of the story revolves around Sasha's stay in the hospital.

Definitely a page turner and I am a real fan of Susi Fox's style of writing. I changed my mind a few times throughout about what was going on. I don't know if I would class this book as a thriller but it does contain a few twists and turns.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for sending an ARC of this novel in return for an honest review.

Have you read this novel? What did you think? Do you have any recommendations for me? Let me know in the comments.
