Best Friends Forever/Margot Hunt - Book Review

Best Friends Forever book cover
Can you ever truly trust your friends?

Alice thought she knew everything about her best friend Kat, from the secrets of her wealthy family to the fact that behind closed doors Kat's husband Howard is a drunk and a bully.
But now Howard has been found dead, having plunged to his death from the balcony of their highly desirable mansion, and the police are convinced he's been murdered.

So why in her time of need has Kat stopped answering Alice's phone calls and texts. Why won't Kat's family allow Alice to visit her anymore? And why are the detectives looking directly at Alice in relation to Howard's death.

I really enjoyed this book, the middle of the book did drag a little bit but the ending was well worth it. The novel goes back and forth from the present to Alice and Kat's first meeting telling the history of their friendship.

I liked the character of Alice, she was a mum who needed some excitement in her life and this is just what Kat gave her. She feels she really knows Kat and what makes her tick.

After Kat's husband dies Alice wants to be there for her best friend, but isn't allowed to be. When police start questioning her, Alice realises she might not understand Kat as much as she thinks.
This is definitely a novel for fans of psychological thrillers.

The ending was quite something, and the last few chapters I couldn't put down until I knew what was going to happen.

A story of how well can you ever really know somebody?
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for sending me an ARC for me to review.
