The Back Road/Rachel Abbott - Book review

I discovered a new author on my Kindle the other week her name is Rachel Abbott. I'd never heard of her until a book popped up and I liked the sound of the description.

This book is just the type of thing I like, crime and mystery. I found the main character Ellie to be interesting and intriguing. Her and her sister have an interesting back story and as you read you find out more about it.

About half way through the book I did kind of guess who the culprit was, whether this was intentionally by the author or not I'm not sure, but I personally like that sometimes in a book because I feel like I'm one step ahead of the characters and read situations a bit different.

This novel is actually the second in a series, I didn't realise this when I downloaded it. I hadn't read the first book, but to me this didn't matter it could easily be read as a standalone book. However, I am planning to read the rest of the series very soon and looking forward to doing so. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mystery/crime novels.

For anyone who is interested here is a list of her books in order

Only The Innocent

The Back Road
Sleep Tight
Stranger Child
Nowhere Child (a short story)
Kill Me Again
The Sixth Window
