Book review- The Escape C.L. Taylor

When a stranger asks Jo Blackmore for a lift, she says yes- then quickly wishes she hadn't.

This book was recommended to me by my partners mum, who gave me her copy to read I do prefer reading an actual book to my kindle. She said this book was brilliant so I thought I would do a review on it.

The plot is that a stranger gets into Jo Blackmore's car after asking for a lift but she knows Jo's name and her husband Max without being told. She also has a glove belonging to Jo's two year old daughter.

This soon turns into a nightmare for Jo as no-one seems to believe that she and her daughter are in any danger. She only has one choice she has to run.

I got into this book straight away it was really well written from Jo's side and every few chapters there is an entry from a mystery persons viewpoint. I think this gave the book an added dimension as i was waiting to learn whos thoughts I was reading.

Jo the main character has a lot of issues she suffers with panic atttacks and agoraphobia. Part of the reason no-one believes her is because of the problems she has.But what i liked abut her was no matter how she felt or what she suffered from she always wants to protect her child. I could relate to this side of her character when it comes to your child.

The twist in this story was one I never seen coming. I also thought it was believable and not too far fetched. I found myself not being able to put it down such a page turner of a book! The ending for me was great everything in the story was tied up so I wasn't really left with any unanswered question about anything.

This is one of the better books of this type I have read, as I've never read any of C.L. Taylor's books before I didn't know what to expect. I will be putting her other books onto my reading list and I'm looking forward to seeing what else she has to offer.
